As part of the "Rogers improvements" to FIDO, we are no longer able to
set your Fido number to call forward to a non canadian/USA telephone number.

So, this means that you cannot get a local service in , say, France, and
forward your Fido to that temporary number in France (still paying long
distance, but avoiding Fido's horrendous roaming rates).

Call forwarding to USA numbers is still allowed (for now).

That seems odd, given how outrageously high Rogers' LD rates are you'd
think they'd want people to call forward to LD numbers.

A solution is to get a SkypeIn number, call forward to the skpeIn number and
forward the Skype number to anywhere in the world.

Skype doesn't have canadian numbers yet, but you can get a US number.

Overall much cheaper.

Forwarding the Skype number to Europe will cost you 2 or 3 cents per minute.
Add the price of forwarding Fido to the US number. Cheaper than Fido and a
lot more flexible.
