Had a very vexing big on a WAP page.

Called Fido, and of course, they offer no support. But they told me to
call Rogers who run the WAP proxy/gateway.

First lady I spoke to in the "Handheld/PDA" section of their phone menu
just hung up on me. (expected behaviour of Rogers). Called again, and
got a guy who promised not to hang up on me, was actually nice and
informational and confirmed they use the Openwave software for the WAP
gateway and suggested I deal with them for technical support and I
didn't have to really try to extract that information from him, he was
quite forthcoming with it. (usually, one needs to work hard to extract
any technical information from telephone reps.

The lady likely was a former Fido CSR. It's a good idea to get the name
or the ID number of the person you are connected to before you call and
say your concern. I have noticed this bizarre behavior is starting to
occur more frequently now with Rogers while in the past, it was rare.

No it WILL NOT work. Data goes through RIM which is not set up with
fido. Simple features will work such as voice and SMS. Any data will
not go through. No questions asked.
